Jessica LaBar-Twomey M.Ed.

I am blessed that my journey has taken me through life with children both in and out of the classroom. I have spent time working as a classroom teacher in pre-k through first grade, and as a stay at home mom to my 4 wonderful kids.  I have learned from children in and out of educational settings, and am thrilled with the opportunity to embrace the big picture for our 21st century learners within a global context.

I am currently back in the classroom as a Kindergarten teacher. I am passionate about progressive practices in the classroom, and exploring ways in which we can creatively incorporate play into our curriculum.  In addition to an M.Ed. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, I hold certification as a Yoga Instructor, as well as a certificate in Digital Technologies in the Early Childhood Environment from Bank Street College, NYC.  My motivation and curiosity stems from finding the commonalities between these worlds.  I am currently completing graduate work in the area of Education and Technology from Rutgers Graduate School of Education.

Thank you for joining me on our journey of innovating play.

Heart & Soul,

Jessica
